Closing on a covered parking spot with living quarters this afternoon. Will be calculating the Miata Density Potential of the driveway once ownership is established. Felt like sharing.

For your reading efforts, I award you a Porsche. Should be wallpaper sized. If not, there is a link below.

Congrats on the purchase! It's always a great thing moving into your own house.

We purchased last year. Out of the three things I wanted - basement, room for a pool table, and a garage - I got zero of these things :(. It's okay though, I'll be building a garage hopefully next year (if any of my hairbrained schemes pan out)

Congrats! Remember you can fit more Miatas if you delete the windshield and store them on their side.

Great!

Nice job going with the detached part too. I always felt with all the weird smells, oils, noise(including of the 4 letter variety, usually in a quick sequence) and especially chance of fire from working on the car, detached is the way to go.

Thankfully my desire for a two car garage ruled out most attached garages in the area. I had the same thoughts on them.

Thanks! Sorry you weren't able to get what you wanted. I lucked out with this one and got 90% of what I wanted.

Very nice! We did settle a bit because it was at the peak of market, and houses in our range were selling within hours of going on sale. Ended up paying 10k over asking price just to cement the deal. It was on the market for 5 hours when we submitted our offer, and there were 7 offers ahead of us lol

That's beautiful...aaaaand I'm jealous.

I want a garage. Badly. (And a 911, too.)

Almost always the correct answer. Relatively cheap these days and can double as extra car storage!!

I'd like one eventually.

That's totally understandable. It's kind of a hot market up here at times. This house was only on the market 4 days before they stopped taking offers. I had to go $7k over asking price to get it, but it seems worth it.

It's the first thing on my list of things to get once we build a garage with detached house.

One is on my short list. My concern is the way the garage is built, the rafters are pretty low. A Miata could go up without issue. My truck would be a different story.

that sucks. My garage will be built with a lift in mind but I rarely work on trucks. Mostly sedans and coupes so I don't need a 15' ceiling, maybe a 12'. But if the cost to go high enough for a truck is negligible, why not!

If you are paying to have it built anyway, you may as well go a little bigger.
